This rectangular serving plate radiates craftsmanship because of how it has  been formed. The combination of nostalgia with ceramics and an innovative shape makes these serving plates unique. This serving plate has been finished with a warm, dark brown, almost black glaze.

La Mère, the first ceramic tableware line of Marie Michielssen, is a loving ode to the (grand-)mother figure and women in general. The tableware looks slightly nostalgic but is, in many ways, innovative because of its vertical structure. Each shape is unique and hand-moulded. All pieces are finished with a glaze in broken white or a warm dark brown, almost black. As a third contrasting colour, Marie chose a bold Venetian red. The designer consciously chose these colours to create a mix & match of white with dark brown or red with dark brown. (la mere)
